Who can join the Panthers?
Everyone. We run junior, ladies, senior men's and wheelchair teams, from complete beginners to players chasing national selection.
At what age can my child start?
From age eight. If they can run, jump and are curious about basketball, that is a good enough start. We handle the crossovers and the defence.
When and where do you train?
Every weekday at 5pm at Chamabondo Primary School, Victoria Falls. Bring trainers, a water bottle and a willingness to hustle.
Is there a membership or training fee?
Yes, a small monthly fee covers coaching, equipment and club running costs. We also offer scholarships for families who cannot pay. Nobody is left out for financial reasons.
Do you travel for games?
Regularly. We play in the Matabeleland North league and travel to Hwange, Lupane and Dete, and occasionally across the border to Livingstone. Travel depends on fixtures, funding and the health of the team bus.
Is this only basketball, or do you support education too?
Both. We are a basketball club with a wider mission: life skills, confidence, discipline and leadership. We work with schools, offer mentoring and push education as hard as we push defence.
Can I watch a session before joining?
Please do. Turn up at 5pm on any weekday, introduce yourself to a coach and watch a full session. Parents are welcome to stay throughout.
What kit does my child need to start?
Trainers with grip, comfortable sports clothes and a water bottle. Club kit comes later and we help where families need support.
I am a coach, volunteer or sponsor. How do I get involved?
Email info@vicfallspanthers.com or use the contact form. Time, gear and mentorship all count, and visiting coaches are welcome to take a session.
How do you keep children safe at sessions?
Sessions are run by named coaches at a school venue, parents are welcome at any time, and photographs of junior players are only published with consent. Our safeguarding policy is available on request.
