The Victoria Falls Panthers Junior Programme is the heartbeat of our mission to build a lasting basketball culture in Victoria Falls. Designed for primary school players aged 8 to 14, our programme blends sport, education, and life skills in a structured and inspiring environment.
In partnership with Chamabondo Primary School and other local schools, we provide weekly training, mentorship, and competitive opportunities that go far beyond the court. Through our Victoria Falls Junior Basketball League (VFJBL) — a structured interschool league — we create a platform where kids can compete, grow, and shine.
Our junior programme is the foundation of the Basketball for Good initiative — a social impact model that uses sport to uplift underserved communities. From educational support to life skills workshops and mentorship from role models, our young players don’t just learn to dribble — they learn to dream.
Launched and run by the Panthers, the VFJBL is Zimbabwe’s most dynamic primary school league. We provide:
A full-season league for Under-14 boys and girls
Live stats, power rankings, and video highlights
Modified FIBA rules for safe and age-appropriate gameplay
Clear promotion/relegation tiers to encourage competition
Life skills and personal development alongside sport
Structured mentorship and talent identification
Opportunities for scholarships and long-term support
The league is fully sanctioned by the Matabeleland North Basketball Association (MNBA) and supports national development pathways under the Basketball Union of Zimbabwe (BUZ).
