The Victoria Falls Panthers Basketball Club is more than a sports organisation — we’re a movement born out of passion, purpose, and the power of community. Based in the heart of one of the world’s most iconic towns, we use basketball as a tool to inspire, include, and uplift.
Founded by local coaches and youth leaders, the Panthers were created to fill a simple but vital need: to give young people in Victoria Falls access to structured, meaningful, and inclusive sporting opportunities. What started as a school programme has grown into a multi-tiered club that now includes junior and senior teams, a ladies’ division, a wheelchair basketball unit, and a corporate health & wellness wing.
To use basketball as a platform for personal growth, community building, and social change in Victoria Falls and beyond.
To be a leading force in grassroots basketball development in Zimbabwe — known for our talent, our values, and our impact both on and off the court.
At the core of the Panthers is a commitment to inclusion, excellence, discipline, community, and fun. We welcome players of all backgrounds and abilities, strive to be our best on and off the court, value hard work and consistency, and believe in growing together as a team — all while keeping the joy of the game alive in everything we do.
We start young, and we start right. Our junior programme — run in partnership with Chamabondo Primary School — introduces the fundamentals of the game to kids aged 8 to 13. It’s about fun, fitness, teamwork, and learning to believe in yourself.
Our senior team competes in local and regional leagues, showcasing the talent and grit of Victoria Falls on the national stage. For many of our players, this is more than sport — it’s a stepping stone to opportunity.
We believe in equal play. Our ladies’ programme is building a generation of confident, skilled female athletes who are changing the narrative in sports and beyond.
Accessibility is not an afterthought. Our wheelchair programme ensures that all athletes — regardless of mobility — can compete, connect, and belong. We’re proud to lead the way in inclusive sport in Matabeleland North.
Through basketball-based wellness activities, corporate leagues, and fitness challenges, we’re helping companies energise their teams while supporting youth sports development. It’s a win-win for businesses and the community.
